They can then be exemplary examples of how true Muslims can be and ought to take pride and feel good about themselves in living amongst others in a civilized society.Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh By observing all the tenets of the Islamic faith, Muslims can be all the above and be the ambassadors of their faith in Allah the Most Merciful, Most Compassionate.Muslims are obliged to be honest, trust worthy, righteous, law abiding, sincere, loving, compassionate, merciful, understanding, tolerant, useful citizens of their countries.In between, Muslims are to live their life in a manner befitting their status as Believers in Allah and followers of the blessed Final Prophet and Greatest Messenger of God.Pilgrims are also obliged to visit the Maqam of Prophet Muhammad at Masjidil Nabawi situated in Madinah al Munawwarah, Arabia as part of their pilgrimage. Those who can’t perform the complete Hajj can opt to perform the Umrah which is considered the Minor Hajj.

Muslims who are able bodied, free from debts and can afford to travel and have the needed funds to provide for their food, lodging and travelling expenses are obliged to go perform their Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah, Arabia at least once in their lifetime.The Islamic Authorities are empowered to take appropriate legal action upon the wealthy who refuse to do so out of their greed and miserliness. This zakat payment is only to be paid by those who can afford to do so and is totally voluntary. Muslims are also expected to pay their zakat payments ~ tithes which is 2.5% out of their excessive wealth to the Baitulmal – The Islamic Charity Board which is entrusted to help the poor and needy.They can make up for it later throughout the year. Women who are having their periods ~menses or breastfeeding are not obliged to fast. Starting from before the Suboh ~Fajr – pre Dawn prayers and to break their fast upon the onset of the Maghrib -Sunset prayers. Muslims are to fast during the blessed month of Ramadhan.Starting from the Suboh ~Fajr solat ~ pre Dawn prayer.Each and every Muslim is obliged to perform his or her 5 daily solats prayers if one is able to physically or to perform such prayers according to one’s state or condition.Prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him) is sent to all Mankind and to those who have studied the faith of Islam and come to a state of understanding that is based upon proper and accurate learning of Al Quran Al Karim, the Final and Complete Guidance from Allah the Almighty and authentic Hadiths Sayings of the Last Messenger, will come to an understanding that explains all about this earthly life to the Knowledgeable Muslim.He or she is obliged to also believe in Allah’s 124,000 prophets and messengers sent to guide Mankind through the Ages culminating in the mission of Muhammad ibni Abdullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam, the greatest and final Messenger of Allah sent to be the Seal of Allah’s prophets and messengers.The average Muslim is one who believes in Allah, the One True God of us all.When we meet fellow Muslims regardless of their origin, ethnicity, appearance, status of wealth, power or position, language or culture, this universal Salam is used to cut through all such differences and unites us in one sincere spirit of brotherhood or sisterhood and forges us into becoming a solid ummah where we overlook all and everything that divides us and come to be one people, one harmonious grouping of Global Muslims! No other faith or religion has this kind of greeting because it originates from Almighty God Himself! This is the universal Islamic greeting wishing for peace, mercy and blessings of Almighty Allah between those who choose to believe in Him.
